My Greasy Monkey

So we needed to change out the roters on the passat REALLY BAD..like since before May. Well Jon decided that he was going to do it while the weather was still good and all that fun stuff. The morning kind of started off wrong on Saturday. I had to work at 6am. I texted Jon about 10 to see how things were coming and he was still in bed. So he jumps out of bed and we realize that I have the key to the car with me. We only have 1 key because we haven't wanted to drop the $100 for a new one since they are chipped. So I split on my lunch and ran home to give him the key. I get back to work about 10:30am. I get home at 12:30 to find him still working on the same side. I started to worry but it turned out that we needed more things that we originally planned so he had to run to the store and pick up a few more things to pull the bolts off and so on. Once he pulled it off I couldn't believe how low the level was on the roters...I am glad we got them all changed out. I had to pull out my camera because he was so greasy and dirty. I took the first pictures and the first thing out of his mouth is...This better not go on facebook... I kind of laughed and told him it wasn't... just the blog :)

He cracked the second one out really fast and got it pretty much back together to realize he forgot a clip on the breaks so he had to pull the tire back off to put it on. It was pretty funny. Thank you Jared for helping him over the phone figure out what he is doing completely.

Salt Lake Overnighter

Jon and I decided that once a month if money of course allows we want to try and get out for a night and get out of town. Saturday, Oct 9th Jon's nephew was being baptized in West Valley. So we headed down and went to the baptism. It was a really good. They did ask Jon to step in for the confirmation and really touched me and was a good reminder to me how blessed I am to have a worthy husband who holds the priesthood. Afterwards we spent some time over at Angie's (sister-in-law) catching up. We then decided that we would go the the Oqurrie Mountin Temple and do some sealings. It is a very pretty temple and I can't believe how empty people wise it was! Granted it was a Saturday Afternoon but man! The Celestial Room is amazing also! Afterwards we headed to SLC to check in at The Little America. Yes I know it sounds pricey but with my AAA membership it actually was really cheap. We relaxed for a bit and then headed to the Gateway to eat at Tucaono's for dinner.
It is a brazilian restraunt where they bring out all kind of different meats cooked different ways on these sword/rod looking things and if you want a piece of it then they will cut you off a piece, if you want to pass then you just tell them no thank you. Jon loves that place so it was a real treat for him. Afterwards we headed back to the hotel for some much needed R & R.

This was in the courtyard outside of our window

This room was huge! It had the 'bedroom' and then had a little living room kind of thing.

The Tub/shower.. I have never seen anything like this. THe tub was actually below the ground so you actually stepped down to get in.

These were our room keys. When they first handed them to me I was thinking..DANG they gave us real keys but then I looked at them closer to find that they are actually micro chipped and just have the feel and appearance of real house keys.

The Courtyard

This place was amazing when checking in. They totally made you feel like it was an expensive hotel with the bell hoppers and doormen, etc.

Since we were going to be in SLC on a sunday morning then I was trying to think about what we could do as far as the temple square/conference center thing. Then the thought came to mind about 'Music, the spoken word'. I had never gone but one of the chior members are actually in my ward and I had heard her talking about the amazing experience it was. So I thought, lets do it!

When they got there they were rehearsing for the live performance. Since the rehearsal isn't copyrightd then I got some video of it. Sorry it's so jumpy..

I can't remember his name, but this is the guy that does the talking during the show. It was pretty cool experience

After arriving we were realizing that it was truely inspired that we be there that weekend. In the audience below us (we were on top section) was Glen Beck, Senator Orin Hatch, Govener Herbert and PRESIDENT MONSON!!

After the actual recording of the show then Govener Herbert did a small ceremony and presented President Monson with a thing thanking the Morman Tabernacle Chior for all its service that they do and also declared October 10th Morman Tabernacle Chior day for the state of Utah! It was truely an amazing experience. The choir sounds amazing in the Tabernacle.

Afterwards since we were already there then we decided to walk temple grounds.

Jon hadn't been inside of the conference center before and they were doing tours so we got a tour of it. It is truely amazingly huge!!

It was a really good trip out. Totally recommend the Music the Spoken Word live for anyone!! (ie kids do have to be at least 8yrs old to attend)

FHE Driving Range

Jon is big into golfing. He doesn't go very often but takes everything chance he can when it works out. He said that he was going to plan FHE for this night. I was pretty excited. I got home and we made dinner together. We are on a health kick trying eat a lot more fruits and veggies so we had chicken and veggie & fruit salad. :) Then we headed to the mall to pick me up so Sunglasses since I no longer have to wear glasses anymore..I am one of the amazing small percentile of people where their glasses actually correct their eyesight and no longer have to wear glasses or any kind of lenses :) I am loving getting to wear sunglasses again..I have missed them so much.
Then we were off to the driving range to hit some golf balls. I haven't hit golf balls besides mini golf in years so Jon taught me how to properly hit a golfball. :)

First you have to stretch out the arms..

Holy flab!! I am almost embarassed to post this photo but oh well :)
Gotta stretch out those legs..

Feet gotta be shoulder width apart, bend at the waist, straight back.

You gotta keep your left arm straight and bend your right arm. Bend at the wrists..Swing straight..

And a straight follow through..I didn't do perfect but hey I didn't do to bad. I put a few holes in the ground but that is part of the game. Jon even let me hit with this Big BIG wood one...can't remember what they are called but it was a lot of fun.

Perfect focus...

Changing Web Addy

Since the webaddy is under my Maiden Name then I am going to be changing it. If you need the new address let me know...

Hanneli Labor Day Weekend Visit

We went up and saw Hanneli. Man this girl is still growing!!! I didn't get as many pictures this time around but man we had a blast with her!!

We took playdough up with us and we played with it. She had Jon make a penguin. He actually did really good :) We were trying to get her to eat the dinner but there was such much to do so of course she didn't want to eat so I made a french fry to 'hint' at it so she was acting like she was going to eat it. and then it became a game of tasting it and going 'ew' and then she would give it to Jon to taste and he would go 'icky' and so on and so on. it was was cute.

Swinging with daddy.
She would go down the slide over and over again. Jon would follow her up and then follow her down the twisty slide. I would catch her at the bottom and then once jon got to the bottom then she would run into his arms like she was catching him. There was once that he went up to follow her and she turned around andsaid 'Stay Here Daddy'. He was like..umm okay so she went up and then I caught her at the bottom of the slide and then she started looking around for Jon..it was really cute
She found the dirt under one of the BBQ Grills and was having fun playing in it and flinging it around.
She has a thing for Jumping..I tried to get a shot of them both jumping off at the same time but no luck..She would get her arms swinging and then jump :) Totally wished I had gotten it on video because it was classic!!!

Hanneli is so awesome and amazing and I can hardly wait to get to do more things with her!!

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day Weekend since Jon and I are still living in separate states then we decided that we would meet half way in Cedar City where his mom lives. It was a fabulous weekend that ended with Jon coming up to Ogden for a few extra days :)
We got to cedar Friday night and then Saturday we headed to St. George for a 24 hours of some alone time. :)

We had hoped to go and do a session on the temple but found out it was closed so we went and just relaxed on the grass in the shade (it was about 100 degrees in St. George)
Jon and I actually saw each other for the first time on these Temple Ground 8 years ago when Joey and Nicole got married (They are the ones that hooked us up, Joey is his brother and Nicole is my best friend from high school). But of course neither of us actually spoke to each other and we had absolutely no idea what God had in store for us down the road. It is pretty funny to think about because neither of us remember seeing the other there but we definitely have pictures to prove it :)
We wanted to do a little sight seeing and toured Brigham Youngs Winter Home. It was pretty awesome stuff. The home of course is over 100 years old, but so is my parents home and I noticed that some of the door knobs in this home are exactly like the ones in my parents home. I know strange fact but hey I thought it was pretty cool to think that my parents home was built around Brigham Young's time.

We stayed at the Quality Inn. It was nice and totally made it feel like we were on a real vacation outside of Utah.

Check out all the palm trees!!

We also headed to Fiesta Fun Center for some GO Carts, Batting Cages and Mini Golfing. Jon kick my butt at the Go Carts but they were very strict about not bumping into each other and how you will be kicked out and so on and it was me and 3 other guys on the track so it was hard to be careful with the speed demons on the track. Needless to say, Jon totally lapped me!! but he was very cute. it was the 2nd to last lap when he caught up with me and he just stayed at my side rather then passing me..ah!! such a sweet hubby!!

Batting Cages...Man that was fun!! I hadn't hit a softball in a LONG time and I actually did pretty good. I do definitely need to sharpen my skills but hey it was a blast!!

Monday we went to the Iron County Fair with his siblings and walked around. They had some pretty cool things on display. We then headed to Fillmore on our way to Ogden to spend some time with my family. Jon and I took the 4-wheelers out for a ride. I took Jon to Fillmore's version of the Sand Dunes. Then we ate dinner with the fam and then headed back to Ogden
Tuesday we headed to Logan to spend the evening with Hanneli and I will post more on that later...
Wednesday Jon showed up at my work with Flowers..oh I was so surprised. I had had a fetish with Sunflowers recently (Fillmore had FIELDS FULL of the wide Sunflowers and I was just at awed because they are sooo pretty) and so there were some smaller flowers but then a big sunflower in front :)
Since it was Jon's last night in Ogden I left work early and we went to the temple and ran some errands. He said that he needed to go to the mall, I asked him why and he just said that I would see..I was like umm okay, that works because I need to get my work schedule anyway. So we get inside of the mall and he was like okay where to first...I gave him this look like how am I suppose to know..he then tells me that he is going to buy me some new shirts. I was soo surprised and SO excited. My closet is mostly White and Black because of Sears uniform stuff and I don't really have much anything beyond that. So we went shopping and I LOVE shopping with him because he is like my person shopper and he picks out the cutest stuff that I would never think about picking out :)

Cutest Husband Ever!!!

All I can say sit that I have a pretty neat hubby!!! SO Last week we were texting back and forth and I had a huge text that I wrote him that was kind of all over the place and I said something about being all over the place... this is the conversation that followed..

Him: Or Bipolar
ME: BIPOLAR?!?!?1
HIM: It was a joke Sweetie!
ME: Bipoloar Huh? I will Show you Bipolar
HIM: NOOO!! Please...NO!! I'll do anything if u just stay the way u r. I was only kidding
ME: You will do anything?
HIM: Name it!!
ME : *Evil Grin* this should be good
HIM: Bring whatever it is on

I really wanted to do something he wouldn't expect because he is so rocking awesome that he literally would do anything for me. SOooo I called my fabulously smart oldest sister for some fun creative ideas :) She told me the first thing that came to mind and I LOVED IT!!! SOoo I told him what I wanted him to do. He was SOOO shocked and had to ask me a couple of times to make sure I wasn't playing with him. And I don't know how many husbands would actually do this but mine did!!! LOVE this man soooo much!! I did tell him that he could recruit the bishops daughters to help him. Of course he didn't tell them that I told him that he had to do this so they were like..oh that is sooo cute and to this day they still think that but I am okay with it :)

Yep if you haven't guessed, the thing I wanted him to do is to put cups into a fence that has some kind of phrase with my name and he had to be in the picture :) OH he is sooo cute!!
